Paygrade
An allowance and chore tracker that pays my kids for their school grades and the work they do around the house, base pay by class grade, bonuses for chores, and structured loans they pay back.
Paygrade is how I manage pocket money for my kids, tied to their schoolwork and the jobs they do around the house, instead of a flat weekly handout.
How the pay works
Each kid has ten classes and three grading systems. Their base pay is calculated from their grades, a set amount for an A, less for a B, less again for a C. Do well across the term, earn more.
On top of that, chores and tasks add bonus money:
- A kid can request a chore, or I can assign one.
- They complete it and submit evidence.
- I review and approve, the money lands.
Loans
They can also request a loan, for something they want now, and pay it back by completing tasks, or by dipping into their balance. It’s a small, structured way to learn that borrowing has to be settled.
Status
Version one definately works, the logic is all there, but the UI is confusing and I don’t want to spend my time teaching my kids how to use it. A UI rebuild is in progress, and a public release is coming soon.
This page is a living document, I’ll fill in details as the rebuild ships.
