Privacy Policy — Benjamin S Powell

This Privacy Policy explains how Benjamin S Powell (“I”, “we”) collects, uses and protects information across this website and every product published from it. There is one shared policy because the same principles — and the same person — stand behind all of them: Stagehand, QuickMap, SendHub, Chatbarry, Our Local Host, Datatruck and VdoPage.

The short version

The Chrome extensions (Stagehand, QuickMap, SendHub) are local-first: your data stays in your browser, there are no accounts, and nothing is sent anywhere unless you explicitly export or transmit it yourself.
The web apps (Our Local Host, Datatruck, VdoPage) and self-hosted platform (Chatbarry) only process what you actively provide, for the purpose you provided it.
This website runs no tracking or advertising scripts.
I don’t sell your data. Ever.

Information I collect

On this website (benjaminspowell.com)

No tracking analytics. This site does not run analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. The only third-party tag present is a static Bing Webmaster Tools verification meta tag, which proves site ownership and does not collect personal data.
Contact form. When you use the contact form, the details you submit are transmitted via Datatruck and delivered to me so I can reply. They’re kept only as long as needed to handle your message.

In the Chrome extensions (local-first)

Stagehand, QuickMap and SendHub store their data entirely in your browser (local / extension storage).

Stagehand stores your annotations, screenshots and styling settings locally. Exporting settings creates a file you download yourself; importing is something only you do.
QuickMap stores your flowcharts locally. No account, no cloud.
SendHub stores your form configurations locally. When a form you’ve built posts to a webhook, the data goes directly to the destination you chose — not to me.

Removing the extension, or clearing your browser or extension storage, deletes this data immediately.

In the web apps and self-hosted platform

Chatbarry (self-hosted). Because it’s self-hosted on infrastructure I control, your conversations and settings live on that instance. To generate responses, your prompts and any attached content are sent to third-party AI model providers (the LLM APIs in use). Those providers process that data under their own policies.
Our Local Host. A public directory. If you submit an app or listing, the details you provide are published in the directory and used to build the catalogue.
Datatruck. An AI routing service for form submissions. When you route a form through Datatruck, it receives that submission data, uses AI to summarise, tag and route it, and delivers it by email to the inboxes you configure. Submission data is retained only as long as needed to process and deliver it.
VdoPage. A tool for building video landing pages. Account and configuration data you enter to build stages is stored to provide the service; published pages are public by design.

How I use information

To operate, maintain and improve the products.
To respond to contact-form messages.
To deliver the specific function you invoked — for example, route a form or build a page.

I do not sell personal data, and I do not use it for unrelated cross-product profiling.

Third parties

Where a product relies on a third party, that data is processed under the third party’s terms. Notable examples:

AI model providers — used by Chatbarry and Datatruck to generate responses and summaries.
Email delivery — used by Datatruck to deliver routed submissions.
Hosting & infrastructure — the servers that run the web apps.

Each third party is a separate controller or processor for the data they receive; review their policies for specifics.

Data retention

Local extension data persists until you remove the extension or clear storage. Web-app data is kept only as long as necessary to provide the service and handle your requests, then minimised or deleted. Contact-form messages are kept for as long as is reasonable to respond and keep a record of the conversation.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete personal data I hold about you, or to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, contact me and say which product your request relates to. For the local-first extensions, you already hold all the data — clearing the extension or browser storage removes it immediately.

International transfers

Products may be hosted on, or send data to, services located outside your country. By using them, you acknowledge that data may be processed in those jurisdictions, subject to their laws and the third parties’ policies.

Children

These products are not directed at children under 16, and I don’t knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided data, contact me and I’ll delete it.

Changes to this policy

I’ll update this page when practices change. The “Last updated” date above always reflects the current version; material changes will be noted here.
